GM, officially back back. Was on the struggle bus for a bit due to timezone change and going back to work but feels good to get back into the swing of things. Let's dive in!

Last week I sent this issue vs our standard format. A bit different than the usual work but as someone who doesn't have sponsors or ads sometimes I need to pursue some writing competitions to get some side income in. If I see myself making more of these, I'll make sure to put them in another community so people can pick and choose what type of content they are getting delivered.

The two year POAP by Mightmoss is ready, go to the website below, enter your paragraph linked wallet/ENS and the piece will be airdropped to you. No need to connect wallets or anything. Thank you all for being a part of this journey especially for those that have supported me financially or via your time with interviews.

Fresh off my trip from Japan, I took my gameboy camera and took two shots that I felt are worthy of minting them on the blockchain. As most of you know, these are a part of my fully onchain collection. Currently accepting OTC offers on them but if no takers I will list them for sale. These will be my last mints at least for this year and probably for quite sometime.

Lastly, I have a bunch of podcast episodes lined up for you all specifically around the web3 gaming space so make sure to check those out. The first one being with Chase Sommer, the creator of /Sands of Sumaii

Web3 Insights

A ton has happened since I left, I won't try and cover it all but I will recap which ones I felt were big storylines.

Payments overall are getting REALLY spicy. There is going to be a ton of competition in this space and for good reason. Avax launched their on visa card. Robinhood is eyeing stablecoins. Memeland announced Memepay most recently taking a card from the Bcard team. A ton of companies are looking to move up/down market but the idea is to do a landgrab. Grab more of the payment rails system, bridge the IRL spending world and connect it with your web3 world. The victor will come out either winning a significant market and mind share or they can get bought out by a big player for over 1 billion dollars, like bridge. Keep in mind this is an extremely lucrative business with just over 67B in rewards payments.

I posted this a week ago and wanted to touch upon it a bit more. I am sure there are other apps other besides Alfafrens that introduced this concept of streams but to me it was the first example that came across my screen that made me just nod YES the whole time I read about this. Superfluid is a tech/protocol that enables money to be streamed to a wallet/destination. Instead of manually sending 100$ per month to someone you can send them a stream per second, day and if you cancel halfway through you only sent over 50% of the funds vs all. Now this method might not work for a ton of services but something like a subscription for internet, it sort of makes sense, you only pay for the days you use. The concept is so simple yet it makes way too much sense and I started wanting it in more places. Just look at what Nouns is doing with their implementation of this (image below). Honestly, it is a thing of beauty. With Octant you can donate via streams, I received a token airdrop via a stream as well so the flow of people selling/buying was steady. Now I am left wondering, what would an art version of this look? Can I commit to buying an expensive XCOPY piece via a stream with a fee on top?

I've been enjoying this new season of making apps simpler and easier to use. Uniswap has announced a ton of new features and tech in the recent weeks. From simpler cross chain swaps but their big announcement with Venmo is one that caught my attention. Venmo partnership is interesting as the demographic is closer to millennials than X or Boomers so the transition for the users of Venmo to using crypto or even uniswap is a lot higher imo. Venmo already supports crypto so slowly introducing folks to Uniswap will be beneficial for both. But it is not all dandelions with making things simpler, Uniswap also introduced their own L2 which at this stage is a new one once a week haha.

Market Insights

Polymarket has been this years web3 "it" child. It has captured the minds of many not in our bubble, I have had conversations with normies over Polymarket without them even knowing it is a web3/crypto app. But based on this report it might not be green grass and roses over at Polymarket. It seems that there is rampant wash trading (around 2.8B) happening in Polymarket. I don't think this means that Polymarket is fully wrong with some of their predictions or overall sentiment but it does mean in my opinion that is small enough still that a big player could have outsize impact and their create a self fulfilling prophecy.

Everything Else

Ripcache launched another beautiful piece to his remote control collection. For those unfamiliar ripcache does pieces on CCTV cameras and commentary on the surveillance state. This new addition to the lore of the surveillance state with the rise of drone camera is perfection. Definitely a piece I will look to pick up in the future.

Noble Gallery looks to be wanting a piece of the action when it comes to the digital and physical space. Jake Fried is one of my favorite artist in the space when I found out he makes some of his work by hand and with whiteout which is crazy to think as his work is intricate and captures the eye. This new drop with Noble Gallery is great piece capturing Jake's style and elevating Noble Gallery into a new sphere.
